Young wrestlers land in Athens

TEHRAN, Sep. 02 (MNA) – Young Iranian wrestlers have arrived in the Greek capital in order to compete at 2017 World Cadet Championships.

The sportive event is slated to convene in Ano Liosia Olympic Hall of Athens in Freestyle, Greco-Roman and Women’s categories.

Competitions will kick off on September 04 on three United World Wrestling (UWW) homologated mats and will wrap up on September 10.

Iran’s hopes in the freestyle section are pinned on Mahdi Veisi (42kg), Seyed Erfan Jafarian (46kg), Mohammad Khodabakhshi (50kg), Mahdi Eshghi (54kg), Morteza Pourmortazavi (58kg), Amirhossein Maghsoudi (63kg), Mohmmad Nokhodi (69kg), Meysam Zare (76kg), Abbas Foroutan (85kg) as well as Seyed Mahdi Hashemi (100kg).

Meanwhile, Mohammad Kariminia (42kg), Mohammad Hossein Abolhassani (46kg), Milad Rezanejad (50kg), Mohammad Hosseinvand (54kg), Mohsen Madhani (58kg), Mostafa Kayedkhordeh (63kg), Ali Kabiri (69kg), Mehran Saadatifar (76kg), Mohammad Nosrati (85kg) as well as Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini (100kg) will represent Iran in the Greco-Roman style.

Gholamreza Mohammadi and Alireza Lorestani will respectively lead freestyle and Greco-Roman outfits of Iran.
